Giuliano Soffiati

Personal data: Giuliano Soffiati was born in Gazzo Veronese (Verona), on September 12th, 1945 and lives in Vicenza, Italy.
Instruction course: Medicine and Surgery degree at the Padua University (1971). Specialised in Pathology and Laboratory Technics and in Clinical Laboratory Analysis (Padua University).
Working activity: Doctor lieutenant for the Italian Army in the years 1973-74, he worked in the Clinical Chemistry and Microbiology Laboratory of the Legnago Hospital (Verona) from 1972 to 1973 and from 1974 to 1978 as laboratory doctor and from 1978 to 1981 as assistant director. From 1981 to 1987 he was assistant director at the Clinical Chemistry and Haematology Laboratory, San Bortolo Hospital, Vicenza. In 1987 he became director of the Clinical Chemistry and Microbiology Laboratory of the Sandrigo Hospital (Vicenza). In 1993 he returned in the Clinical Chemistry and Haematology Laboratory, San Bortolo Hospital, as director.
Teaching: Statistic, from 1975 to 1981 at the Professional Nurses School of the Legnago Hospital; Clinical Chemistry, from 1985 to 1995 at the Medical Laboratory Technicians School of the Vicenza Hospital; Safety Standard, from 1994 to 1997 and Laboratory Methodology, from 1997 to 1999 at the Biomedical Laboratory Technicians School of the Verona University; Clinical Pathology, from 1997 to 1999 at the Nursing Sciences School of the Verona University. He was Vice-Director of the Medical Laboratory Technicians School of the Vicenza Hospital from 1985 to 1993 and he is Director from that date.
Member of the Italian Society of Laboratory Medicine and of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry, he is secretary of the Italian Society of Laboratory Medicine.
He is co-author of about 60 communications at scientific meetings and congresses and of 26 works on scientific journals. He organised over 25 national meetings about laboratory scientific arguments.
